I once read a great quotation in either "Dear Abby" or "Ann Landers":
An optimist cleans the tub after he bathes. A pessimist cleans the tub before he bathes. A lady cleans the tub both before and after he bathes.
Abby's or Ann's reply to the reader who sent this in, was, "And so does a gentleman, I might add." I thought of this again when I was at the laundrymat. When I'm done with my drying I always check the veins of the dryer. But I never thought to check the veins all that carefully before I put stuff in. Normally, I do not get anything strange. But this time . . .a sock & the person who had used the dryer before me had just left, since his dryer times had all been staggered. I left his sock on the table. Oh well. What does this have to do with computers?
I read in a security book that Windows users should reformat their hard drives every day or so, and reinstall everything, to prevent the formation of back doors. (What a headache! Every day or so? Would every week be enough?
